  1. I’ve been trying to lose some weight over the last year and it has been up and down. I was doing well until I fell ill and could not make my own food anymore. Thus, I had to lean on my husband to cook (which he does not do very healthily). I started with Weight Watchers and the Mayo Clinic Diet looks a lot similar. Do you know of any differences between the two and which one would help me lose the unwanted weight more effectively?

      Both Weight Watchers and the Mayo Clinic Diet are healthy diets that teach lifelong sustainable habits for weight loss.

      The main difference is that Weight Watchers uses a point system that is asigned to the amount and type of food that you can consume each day. On the other hand, the Mayo Clinic Diet uses a food pyramid to teach you about healthy food choices and portion control.

      Both systems are a healthy way for losing weight and keep it off forever. The result for both diets is a sustainable weight loss as a result of healthier lifestyle changes.

  2. It’s funny how often we know exactly what to do but fail to do it anyway.  We convince ourselves that it doesn’t really matter or it’s too hard or I just want to eat some pizza.

    It’s not as hard as everyone tells themselves that it is.  Make yourself a priority and live healthy and well.  It is really worth it in the end.  You will be healthier and feel better and even live longer.

  3. Hello Veronica, this diet seems ideal for me. I had my baby a year and a half ago, and I did not gain much weight during pregnancy, but later, when I got cravings for sweet things, and since I could not breastfeed, and I also had delivery by cesarean, I could not do exercises and It was when I started to gain a lot of weight. To give you an idea, I gained a total of 44 pounds.

    Now I can exercise, I try to do 45 minutes of spinning every day, but I still do not lose any pound. maybe this diet will help me. What I did not understand was the price, how much they will charge me to get the diet? the 65 dollars?

    As a health enthusiast, I am always looking for anything new in regards to the issue of health and wellness, especially on diet programs. And guess what always shows up in the search engines? Yup, the Mayo clinic site. I think it is one of the sites that is ranked high by Google and other search engines.

    I find it interesting that they have finally decided to come up with a “Mayo Clinic Diet.” Is this something new or has it been around for sometime? So let me get this straight, a paying member will receive their meal plan and other diet guidelines every week but will be charged quarterly. I wonder how long one needs to stay on the program in order to see results. 

    Going back to diet programs, I think most if not all of them will tell you basically the same thing, that is, you need to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet plus increase your physical activities. So if I need to lose weight, why should I to go with the Mayo Clinic diet instead of other programs that could very well be free? In other words, what makes the Mayo Clinic Diet stand out among all others, in order for me to try it out?

  5. I really enjoyed how raw and honest you were. I’m big on the opinion that we all are different, so there’s no way of one-size-fits-all diet. However, I do truly believe that diet such as this can completely transform one’s life. And that is not just in regards to weight loss, but for health in general.

    I really loved the food pyramid. It represents so accurately what my diet has been for more than half a year now. And I truly believe that that is the way to go. Surely, it can vary slightly, and for some people the Carbohydrates and/or Dairy might be completely cut out, yet it’s so much more accurate than the classical food pyramid is.

    All in all I can completely attest that this works for weight loss.

    I myself am naturally a pretty lean guy. I’ve never had any weight problems, I’ve never tried to get rid of some excess weight. However, once I pretty much adopted these same food habits (based on the food pyramid presented), I indecently lost quite a bit of weight.

    Obviously, there’s more to the diet here and the whole approach here, but just the very concept of it is pretty inevitable to succeed. 

    I also love the fact that the pyramid contains a section of physical activity. Which is insane to how true it is for one’s well-being. All in all I believe that there should also be a place for sleep and mindfulness practice. Also proper nutritional supplements is what I believe could facilitate all this. Obviously, many people yourself included might not agree with me as there is a lot of controversial information on supplements. However, I am strongly of the opinion that it’s the best approach.

    So, if you’re doing it all, and still not losing weight, the very least you should additionally be adding is proper sleep and learn to practice mindfulness. As for supplements – they’re totally up for discussion. Stay Open Minded! Stay Healthy!
